    had a great time at national day last weekend.......big thank you to dave robinson and gj for tracing down this trophy,i had to leave early to get the boat...... i was in complete and utter shock when i got a phone call to say i was awarded it for most original car of the day!!
    with the x pack.

    Great to see both you and the cars, there are very few mk2's that are as origonal as the "X". Very well deserved Gerard

        well done Gerard you must be building up a nice collection of silver & glass by now

        Bringing mine on its debut tomorrow to Mondello. hope no major teething problems. had to sort out a few little things already, but thats escorts for you.

                    no d,a short explanation, some confusion to what the memorial trophy was actually awarded for, was it for best RS1800 or most original car, after speaking to Tonys best friend Jeff Mann he believes it was the latter, Jeff was actually asked to judge the first year, Hemants MK2 Mexico won, his name entered on the sheild, i think a couple of years passed and the only other name on the sheild is David Barnes for his cosworth, David was contacted on here and really confirmed what the trophy was/is awarded for.

                      Congrats Gerald,

                      both cars looked great at national day. Wanted to take a closer look at and chat about the Xpack, but was busy all morning cleaning the mex.

                          was great to see you back gerad and the shield awarded to your x pack was just what the car deserved,stunning.
                          well done to gj and robbo for tracking the trophy down after all these years,once again dave many thanks for your efforts throughout the season and keeping me sain on our long trips!
