  • Very, very low mileage mexico

One of our engineers at work told me he went to a classic car show in Faversham, Kent over the weekend.
He is into American Classics but mentioned a nice Escort.
The car in question was an early Mk1 Mexico on a 'J' plate he thinks.
It was white with red stripes and all original unrestored with 12,000 miles on the clock.
Anyone know this car, must be one of the lowest mileage Mexico's out there ???

Another interesting one was a 1960's VW split screen camper van, shipped over to South Africa from new, used for a few years and then dry stored.
It is all original and unrestored in two tone red/cream. Rare 23 windows with 1500 miles from new and for sale at £45,000.

    AMAZING

I was at that show, didn't see a white with red but there was a maize with black on a "J" plate, still had vinyl covered seats and on minilites, would have preferred it on steels with hub caps though!

Talked to our engineer, John today to see if he took any photo's
Sure he would have noticed if it was the colour of a mustard pot!!
He said it had a notice board with details of the car and was in amongst the other classics, not with a club group.

Mustard pot? That is one of the best colours a MkI was ever painted...

        Still, it takes all sorts...
