If that's anywhere near 220bhp on a Dyno-Dynamics rolling then then i'll be suprised , never 265bhp in a million years unless it's really 2.3+ litres and they're keeping it a secret !!!

Yes Millington , YB , Warrior , Holbay , etc are all types of 16v pinto based engines that bolt straight into an Escort .
The new alloy blocked 16v pinto revolution is here but it's not cheap , still cheaper than an alloy blocked BD engine though .

                    P.S.
I got a new alloy block machined up for 2.5 litres and 9000+rpm and a complete Millington Diamond series one head to go onto it earlier this year . Just need a crank , rods and pistons etc and then it will be driving around the streets of South London spraying rubber over supercars windscreens !!!! lol . BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRP .

****ed my knickers when I saw it in the mag and wondered whether you would have seen it. 200 or 265hp I'd still rather have it over the scooby or focus in the feature. Thats the newest track to open in the UK as well where they did the feature, Blyton Park, sposed to be excellent.

lol , i nearly spat my tea out when i saw the quoted power figure !!!
At least the writers of the mag are getting into some modded classic Fords at last . They've been brain washed with all the "whizz bang drive itself" crap for years so driving a proper Escort has brought them back down to earth at last . One of them has now bought a mk2 Escort and another already has a mk1 Capri with 5 litre Mustang engine (that needs lowering a foot) lol.
They've all got far too much money though , paying £400 to have your car cleaned , paying £10,000 for a titanium exhaust on a 911 , etc etc .

Alloy block sounds the ticket, maybe it will last more than a few baaaarrrrrppppsssss with an alloy one

But on a serious note, I would say that a propper BD will be in the 235-245 band, no matter what you can beat the sound of a bd when it hits it second wind around 8,000rpm

Maybe old hat compared to the modern tech but deserves the respect...
