  • Riat 2011

I went down to RAF Fairford for the royal international air tatoo(RIAT) yesterday, set off at 5am got there for 9am then got absolutely drenched until 12 o'clock when it was like someone flicked a switch and the rain stopped and the sun came out, then the aircraft took to the skies. Absolutely brilliant day a mix of classic and modern aircraft, trade stands and the odd car display
I will get some photos of aircraft up soon but does this lovely mk1 1300XL 4 door belong to anyone on here?

Im sure that four door did the lakes tour, driven by retro ford lads, and owned by ford heritage. very nice clean motor.

It was very wet indeed over the weekend here, I only live a few miles from there, but didn't hear or see any planes!!

Really good day once it dried out. Topped off by seeing the vulcan doing a routine and the lancaster coming from elsewhere to display! Breath taking spectical
