    good old Pinto tensioners seem to last the lifetime of the car - built to last you see - lol lol

      A quick check I soon found noise was from the cambelt area

      Stripped it down and found that 1 guide wheel had shattered and the tensioner had shed its plastic wheel as well !

      Car ran fine but was noisy and the adjuster had taken up the slack to enable engine to still run
