Insurance for modded mk2s??

Been ringing round and a lot of people wont insure the mk2 as its modded.
The best quote i`ve had is with HIC £450 for an agreed value, which they will set when i send pics in.
What does everyone think to that price?
Know any other companies that may be able to help?
I`ve tried AON... They said - No way!!

Depends what the mods are, when I last spoke to Dominion, they said they weren't bothered what was on the car as long as I had not put a different type of engine in (i.e. Cossie).

A cossie is a modded pinto so can't see how they can judge it like that.

Dominion go on injector colour too LOL...My new ones are black.. they don't appear to have any understanding of modified cars IMHO

You get that impression with a lot of insurance companys you talke 2,you reel of all ya mods and you no they aint got a clue what ya on about.

Well dominion i thought were the RS experts when it came to insurance but still.

Right... i`ve tried Heritage, price of £250
BUT... they will only agree to a max value of £3500 which is half what i really wanted!!
Tried competion car... They said no, they only insure competion cars.
They put me through to Adrian Flux...
Going round in circles here!!!

Had my mex insured with dominion for 5 years . 70% loading for mods agreed value of 6k £156 fully comp,
I then put a 300bhp cossie in it, And It went up to £500 When I asked why it was so much more I was told that they could no longer class it as a classic It was now a hybrid and they where only insuring it because I was already a customer :albino:
Think I will stick to a pinto next time :bom:

Best just say its a 16v pinto with a blower
