  • Mk3 escorts, will they ever be old skool?

I've just been looking trough the awesome lakes tour pictures. Awesome cars guys Im a mk3 owner myself, I own a RS1600i. Im guessing most of you guys on here will say never because they are FWD, but looking through the pictures the mk3's would not look out of place in the line of mk1's, 2's, cortinas etc etc. IMO of course.

They are almost 30 years old now so are certainley old enough to be old skool, but will they ever fit in?

A bit of a rhetorical question that.
I really liked my RS1600i, had it for 4 years, as for fitting in, no reason why not.

Had one don't want another. Did not like the CVH engine/front wheel drive and the lack of any form of design and the 80's styling. And most importantly the charisma of an Allegro.

I had a MkIV Ghia once, I moved virtually all my possessions once in that.
A tad more practical than a MkI or II. Not a particularly enticing motor though

wrong forum to ask this q son, to many blinked people on here, fwd blah blah blah, skater shite blah blah blah.
16i is a lovely looking car.

always been worriede about having another mk3 and not fitting in with the rwd boys but can honestly say the crack from this site is from the people etc and not the cars

i love em and still the 1st car (16i) that i really wanted after i first saw one.

jimmer - always taking out of his arse - mr ****in opinated, have we ever seen any of your cars

                      classic fwd

the S1 rst is a classic same as the 3 door, but used in less forms of motorsport and with no real noticable victorys but the rst is more a classic than say any focus rs will ever be.
happy with my rst and 3 door
what i need is a high horse like the others have !

                          Why does it matter?
                          If it's a classic it's a classic.
Personally it don't ring my bell.
                          I have a XR3 but want a 1600.
Never desired them when i was a nipper.
                          I ALWAYS wanted a Harrier.
Took 30Yrs before I did but I got one.
Never had a shag in a Mk3 either. LOL

Mk3's already are in my opinion. Lovely cars. Do prefer the S1 to the 16i though.
Know a lot of people who have a huge passion for the 16i and rightly so.

I knew there would be a few mixed views on here I thought it would be good to see what they would be though. Everyone has their own opinion

Old skool mk3's, got a good ring to it
