          RIP Claude

Heroes from a different era when as said they lied about their age to join up early

My grandfather was born in late 1900 and joined up in 1915 at 14 years old. He survived WW1 and travelled the world with the army.

He lived into his late 90's and some of the stories he told me as a young lad were amazing as the way they travelled around the world was so different to what we expect now. No planes, it was all trains across Europe and Asia or ships to Africa.
          Cheers
