  • The source of my engine problem

Only taken me 6 months to get the enthusiasm to have a look at what was causing the noise on my Engine. So, this morning took the sump off to have a look.
No2 Con Rod bolt has been catching the oil pick up pipe and making itself a nice little channel in it. Also, No1 Con Rod Bolt has fractionally been touching the body of the new oil pump that was installed but not gouging it. (This will be sorted by my friend Dremmel!)
Anyway, Still hugely narked off by all of this to say the least. But, at least it is nothing major.

NEED A NEW OIL PICK UP PIPE NOW IF ANYONE HAS ONE.

    The gouge..............

    How close!

Don't really want to weld it up as I want to be 100% with it. Will get him to buy me a new one from Burtons.

Shouldn't it have been checked for clearance by your builder?? Is it a long throw crank??

annoyed but somewhat relieved I'd say. As Lee says swarf...I'd flush the oil ports and fit a new spray bar. Good you sorted it tho.
