  • Mk2 Security

Living not far from an area full of car stealing undesirables. I’m interested in fitting as much security to the car as possible, by the looks of all the holes in the doors it may have been fitted with a serious alarm at some point.
Can any one recommend any alarm systems?

as well as this I am going to fit an immobiliser or two

i also will try to de the following:

got a clifford waiting to go on mine (the £600 jobby, with remote start and all that carry on) that ive got for uber cheap, just gotta wait for my pal to get round to fitting for me . kinda hard to get round the clifford tbh, leaves no stone unturned!

but until then, at night there is 2 tonne of mondeo blocking the drive, and the ht lead ocmes off when i park to somewhere shady, plus a diskloc

pmsl @ clifford - more and more i see these the more and more i think WHY....

Give me your car with it fitted and it will be started in under 5 mins

TOTAL waste of time having an imobilser on a mk2

True... no point in fitting one imo either.
Mechanical immobilisers are better on older cars.
eg, disc lock, pedal lock, wheel clamp.
The electronics are so simple to work round.

Always heard that Clifford are massively over-rated, I sorted a neighbours Clifford equipped van out only a couple of weeks ago that had immbolized itself. With my basic knowledge of alarms and stuff I had it running in a couple of mins.. quite shocked actually.

As for security on the Scrote.. I have mainly mechanical stuff.

I have a few little inovations, that will leave the car un-driveable, but best to keep em to your self eh?
Cheers for the seal btw... Nice fit

i been thinking about this myself too lately, what about a tracker system, any point? there must be some systems suitable for putting on the old cars..

Trackers are ok, but easy to find on a mk 2, so if thats all you have then pointless.

Tin foil around the track makes it useless, so if its found then whats the point.

Saff's are usually in the boot LOL....

Even cliffords on cossies don't work very well...

                      Best thing is disable somert....

Quick Release wheel / gear stick / stop fuel

Can't get anywhere with out such things

Quick release steering wheel i would love to have but id rather have a Bolt on Boss rather than have to weld to the column, wouldn't be to bothered about changing the steering wheel as mine is past its best.
