  • Lakes Tour Sunday parking

I won't be doing the tour but will be coming up Sunday. I'll be in the Mk1.

Is it possible to park in the bit with the other Escorts ? I wouldn't want to come up with the car and park it in with the 'normal' cars.

Last year we paid for entry but the bloke wouldn't let me take the car up with the other Escorts.
I had to stick it at the other end of the field, he wouldn't let me up that bit 'because you're not an RSOC member'.

Not being snobby or owt but I like to keep an eye on the car and I think people might want to look at it with the others.

Or do I have to be a member of RSOC ?

I've been an RSOC member at various times over the years.
I just thought it was a bit petty last year, I was polite to the guy, we're all into the same cars and there was loads of room.
To be honest it put me off joining again

Probably this is one of the perks of being a member of the rsoc ...to get your pride and joy out of the "normal" car park

You often hear people moaning "you dont get anything for joining the rsoc so why should I join"

The Above is one good reason

Say you played golf. Wanted to play in a tournament at a club. They would ask you to join before you play. Correct? You couldn't just turn up expecting to play because you have a set of Ping's.
              Same principal.

But you can bring a guest in for a fee like most members clubs

so if people who dont want to become members of the rsoc but want to show there rs car at the shows could pay say a £10 guest fee which would all go back into the club.

Sorry you've lost me there. I don't play golf, the club membership is a bit pretentious.......

Wanting to park your car at an RSOC event on an RSOC stand without wanting to become a member = freeloading.

                            wow...

Do you use this kind of tact when you're on the RSOC stand attracting in new members, or do you just spit at them

I'm an old punk so I gob on them.

Just bugs me when people want the benefits of the club without wanting to join! Do you think that this is fair?
