That's £1250 with the VAT for the calipers alone...plus £350 or thereabouts for discs...£50-60 for bells and bolts...£100 or more for anything resembling something worth having in the way of pads...plus you still have to have the blank mounting lugs machined for the correct offset, drilled for the correct bolt spacing, and top-hat inserts/spacers made to suit...which is normally at least £100 a pair.

Looks like that kit came from Peter Lloyd(??)...which at £1635 all in is a bargain price really. Monte's are masively overpriced imho...but if that's what you want or have to use, then that's the price you have to pay. If all you want is really excellent brakes without having to stick to any class regs then a radial mount kit from AP or Alcon is way better value.

Very nice Gary, are they to go on your red rs2000?
I've gone for the same on my 18 replica.
Not cheap, but well worth it.

Mintex F4 pads is the way to go, work straight from cold and in my experience never fade. Only downside is the residual dust, you have to keep on top of cleaning it off especially down the side of the bodywork.

Callipers are only 2.7kg per item.

Agree though, for a road car seems unnecessarily expensive given that AP make decent modern 4 pots for half the price.

                  Nice piece of kit though.

All depends on how many horses you need to stop i suppose.
Ford used them for long enough and still first choice on all the top cars of today. And they are not heavy at all.
