The wife just got a renewal notice, now bareing in mind she's 42 ( Dont tell any one ) been driving since she was 19, NEVER had a claim or prang or anything, a carefull lady driver, she drives a jeep grand cherokee and her insurance has gone up £350.00 , to about £800, the agent said that all insurance is due to go up by about 42% makes my pish boil !!

Just renued the wifes insurance on our Freelander it went up £100, strange but was about £70 less if I was insuring it instead of her

Managed to get it about £50 cheaper with Hastings direct via one of the comparison sites.

Its all a con , Just swap to another insurer through a comparison site and you will get it a lot lot cheaper. I had the same a few years back , never had a claim , conviction etc etc and the insurance for my M3 went from £357 to £875 . Told them to ram it. went to the comparison site and had a renewal for £275 .
Just last week we have swapped our shogun from a 2.8 Td to a 3ltr v6 , my current insurer couldn`t insure us. I was paying £350. Went to the comparison site and am now with swiftcover for £258

it is a con,i was with esure for a good few year,s ands it kept creeping up, it,s only a 14 yr old disco, went on go compare and got it £150 cheaper wth admiral.
i shall be looking for a cheap quote when it,s due again.
insurance rises are because of the compensation claims and uninsured driver,s but why should we that dont claim be clobbered.
as frosty says rip off britain again n again.

Try Sheilas wheels insured the other halfs clio 182 which is group 16 or 17 for under £300 which was about £150 less than the quote from her exsisting ensurer, as already said its worth shopping around.

yep, wife insures our ST2 gone from 350 to over 700, so shopped around gone with Aviva under 350. never stayed with the same insurer the second year, always shop around!

My insurance broker reckons a 40% rise this year is the norm . My £1000 15 year old Lexus was £450 to insure last year so if that goes up 40% i'll be weighing it in and getting a 950cc Fiesta .

similar thing with public liability and building insurance for our small bussiness, was paying £1500 ish and set to rise, quick shop round and got it for £850 with £1500 tool cover and £1500 plant that was not included before,loyds underwriten too.
