help please urgent

Hi all
I have had a letter from the dvla claiming that i am no longer the owner of my car, the car is on a sorn in my garage, (i have had this problem before on a previos car, when i used a car for banger racing, i know the car did not go back on the road, when i was at castle combe i saw a car with my old reg but as i said i banger raced the car so i did not care), BUT this time i am getting it ready for paint to back on the road.
i bought the car from ireland have pics of it with the reg number on in ireland, recovered it back over here with breakdown truck, but how do i prove i still have the car i bought and there car is not the origonal car.
Chassis number its a rally car get one made anywhere

Have you got the car ?

If yes then simply ring the number on the DVLA letter and tell them you have not sold car - simples

how do i prove mine is the correct one, being on a rally car,
i do have pics with reg number where i bought it from a while ago

log book and sorn in my name, copied both, faxed and posted to DVLA
called the Dvla, the man said iit was not possible to claim somebody elses reg docs, alsothey would not be able to tax it anyway, it must be a mistake he said
umm left me less than convinced,
i explained to him it had already happened to me previously

well the dvla have sent my v5 to someone else,
i have to now fill in a form to get it back, when i get back i am going to seak legal advise, spoke to 2 men very helpful, then a woman who could not give a flying F
i am going to fill in a v888 which will give me the name and address of who has applied for my log book.

If you have the V5c for the car and it still has the new keeper supplement with it, i cant see how they can issue another logbook to someone else, normally when someone applies for a logbook the DVLA write to the previous owner (in this case, that should be you) asking if they have sold the vehicle and to varify it, as someone else has applied to be the registered keeper of the vehicle.

I will PM you a direct DVLA phone number to ring and they should be able to help you, you will get a human straight away, its better than going through the boring robot answer rubbish, that always puts you to the wrong department lol.

Well i have the car V5 with rip offs. Sorn etc
may call the police later,
I think i will post this on a couple of forums and see if the person gets in touch, maybe he thought the car had been broken or scrapped and wanted the reg back

So to all if you can help me please, the reg is LMB 6L if you know the person get them to get in touch with me, or i will have to inform the police
If it is a member rather than cause bad feeling in the clan just come clean drop the case and apologise
if not heard from i will press on further get v888 and shame them

Multiple log books for your cars reg no floating about i'm affraid . Quite common , i had the same thing happen to me a while back .

well lads a little update, the dvla want to inspect the both cars,
i have one lad say he knows who building the car, he said he bought the car in 2001, and mine was just a scrap shell, um scrap i think not,
i was looking on the internet and found some pics of the car doing rallying, still looks identical to how it is now even same stickers and sponsers, and i then noticed the tax disc is still in the windscreen from when it was last used.
