  • Track Days

Maybe the wrong time to ask a question with all the banter about at the moment but here goes
Once the car is sorted I intend to give it a blast at a trackday event

    so

I need to be sure what the rules are regarding clothing...I have a helmet but its about 3 years old,,,,Will this be ok

Race suits look nice but is it needed to be a full FIA spec suit

Do seats and harnesses need to be in date

    Gloves and boots ??

Is all kit required to be flame proof I know it a good safety feature

    Seroius comments please

    1/ Yes

2/ Not needed - only stipulation is at most venues is that arms and legs are covered

3/ No - seats must be secure (any types of seats) and seat belts must be worn

    4/ No special requirements

    5/ No

Don't forget you're not allowed to make a noise , skid or overtake on corners usually . They are the most important rules .
sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!

lol , N/A high compression race engines with big trumpets and single box exhausts can forget about trackdays usually due to noise regs . Even if you pass the static noise test they will wave the black flags once the trumpets roar under full load .
Alot of people know where the track noise meters are so they will lift off the throttle at that part of the lap , stuff extra wadding in their exhaust , fit 2x or more exhaust boxes , fit an extra temporary muffler once at the track inside their tailpipe (sold at most tracks) , fit a restrictive air box , etc etc .
In my experiance , the quieter the exhaust the louder the trumpet/intake roar is so a balance needs to be struck . An air box with a small inlet tube will help for sure even if it loses power whilst on track (or get a slow engine or one with a turbo) .
