  • Open day on the silvery Tay

Well it's the first day of the fishing season , and I have booked a small cottage at fearnan on loch Tay. Just getting ready to head off for the open day pressesion with the throwing of whiskey on to the water for good luck for the season ahead , so always the chance of an open day spring salmon on the river Tay. So tight lines and here's hopeing .

      Silver Tourists.

Loads of Salmon running up our Southern Chalk Streams this winter.
I have been after the big roach on the middle sections of the River Itchen with no success "Yet". I have seen loads of Salmon running and spawning in the gravel shallows, due to the cold clear water of the last few weeks.
The most I have seen in over 25 years!
Not quite have the salary to throw a line at the Silver Tourists

      Tight Lines,
      Mark

There is some amount of changes at Kenmore and Fearnan now

Caravan site at Kenmore gone now all chalets, bistros and a golf course, and the hotel at Fearnan gone and now luxury flats.

          Keeping up with the times

Well only fished for 4 hours as all the snow melt made the river rise 5 feet in 6 hours , so got a free return day when the conditions are better .
