Ahhhh so it was owned by Ford themselves then.....

Good chance the first 'Dealer' selling it on after would have been 'Frog Island' in Rainham Essex.

Now that was some place....I used to live over the road to it (Road being A13). I'm sure it was Fords disposal point for its pool cars, etc. and it was a nearly new car dealer for Ford employees. Any faults with the cars were on a printout on the windscreen and a list of any damage that had been repaired. My Dad worked in the paintshop in Dagenham and I used to go there with him and people would be looking through the fence for what new stock had come in...

Some bargains must have been on offer because people would arrive way before opening and run to claim the car they wanted. My Dad must of been held up by his 6YO son as we ended up with a Silver Mk4 1.6 Cortina L (CHX 221V) Sorry Dad !!!

Hope that gives you an insight into what 'could' have happened to your car.
    Steve
