Friends have just emigrated to Brisbane and we asked if they were far.

I know Australia was a huge country, the map definitely puts it into perspective and I know they're miles and miles and miles away from the floods.

Still bad though, and us brits whinge about snow!

yep it's not good thats for sure.....

to give some more perspective I live in melbourne which is about 2000kms away and it would take me about 24hours to drive to brisbane (with no speeding as the cops have no sense of humour).

I hope anyone from QLD on this forum is ok.

Wow, I didn't realise that the whole UK could fit in my backyard until I checked the link! All good here, just a few unfortunate souls got caught out with the flash floods around Toowoomba.
