  • Weather reports on tv

Can anyone tell me but is all the tv weather reports regarding the weather tempratures all way out . We all have digital temp readers in our cars and they all say it's much colder outside than the tv is telling us . Does any one think the same ? . And does this have anything to do with the goverment and winter fuel payments to the oaps . At night it's dropping down to -10 to - 15 and even lower in some places .

Weather reports are usually based on an average temp for the period

I think some car sensors are subject to "wind chill" when moving or, alternatively, warming by hot air from the engine circulating when stopped or crawling.
This morning, -3C just outside the garage became -6C going down the hill and +3C stopped in traffic, all within minutes (and why the **** does +3C have to trigger the dash to change to a picture of an enormous snowflake??). Modern cars designed for morons....
I don't recall such differences in other parts of the country but BBC National weather gives detailed local temperatures for specific Midlands locations, then a few minutes later Regional weather gives temperatures about 5 degrees different. How?? - they're both using the RAF Met Office at Shawbury as primary source???
