The rs18 with 28k on the clock ???????

And the series x with 11k on the clock ??????

And the price difference being only 3k back in the day .

Also was this series x not a ford press car being in robsons book of escorts , and only that and geralds x being the only two left that ford made for press / road testing as the others are are not known of where they still exist or don't ?

Answers please grum and dave or graham j .

this particular car was NEVER a press car, all the SERIES X press cars were either late 1975 or early 1976

this is the 'london prince' car that was sold to ian at oaklands and then ended back up in the staines area. The previous guy to moorlands that owned it was a right messer and certainly wasted a lot of my time.

will try and answer your pm this week

As a good rule of thumb for pricing RS cars with series X options, if the car has at least 80% of the full series X options, then take the value of a standard car in similar condition and then add 50 % of the value again for the series X options. I.E. nice minty standard 1977 car could be @ £12k, then with the series X options it would be @ £18k. Ditto if the 1977 car was fairly good and worth £5k, with the series X options it would be @ £7.5k

i have always used this method when valuaing series X for individuals, police (Theft) or insurance

I think the value is slightly higher than said , so if a mint car is £20 k then add another £10k so would be £30 k with 17,000 kms on the clock .

Mint mk2 escorts have been £18-£22 for some time now going by sales of well known cars from this site and the rsoc .

How about the Ferrari 275 LM for £2995...which would be worth well in excess of £1million now. Seems like a sound investment...
