know what you mean though was talking to a hgv driver and he said he was delivering sand to the salt depo looks like there diluting the salt down thats why its like mush to much sand in the salt and the hgv strugle

Saw an old D9H the other day, for sale at a Plant Traders in Thurrock. Nearly crashed when I saw it parked up in their yard, as it has to be one of the rarest of old Cat's seen in the UK today. Your lucky working in the 'closed shop' of Open Cast as we 'Cat' enthusiasts don't see much big stuff about these days..

Hgv

I have been an HGV Instructor ,with Class C (the old 1 Artic Licence),for over 40 years,and see a lot of inconsiderate car drivers in this bad weather,because they dont understand the capabilities of HGVs.
I am also a 4x4 owner,which i tow a large german Caravan all over Europe,as far south as Dubrovnic,and as far north as Kobenhavn.

But dont believe its only in the UK that the Authoritys can be slow at snow clearing.I go to Spain every January 3rd for 3 months,and can remember after staying overnight in Boulogne,got up in the morning to 6-8 inch of snow.So thinking the Paege would be cleared I used the Paege,it was unploughed and towing the caravan i was in high box 4 wheel drive for over 150 miles to Rouen,without my 4x4 i would have had to park up like the Spanish fruit waggons that were forced to by the police.
