  • another insurance question ????

Need to think about insuring my car again ,
last year i said a value after talking to Rs John about my car, told the insurance sent pics etc and when i received my paper work it said current market value ,is this correct ?

secondly if my car is in the garage with insurance but no mot or tax is it still covered for theft /fire or is this some other kind of storage insurance i should be looking at ?

had quotes from £124 to £1800 for basically a std sport

becareful of "current market value" as if the go by Classic Ford then thats peanuts, always best get them to list a value as then thats a contract between you and your insurance company on what you both agree the car is worth.

Always best to advise the insurance that the car is locked away and not in use with no MOT or TAX and get it in writting from them that they still agree the value of the car.
Otherwise thay have a get out of jail card not to pay up the agreed value if something happened, as you never told them trick.

I pay a bit more than most on here £100+ for a car in storage, think its my postcode, thats with Boncaster (RSOC)

You need to get an Agreed valuation with your insurance company, usually they will need between 4 and 6 pics of your car, you send them the pics with the value you think the car is worth on a form they send to you, if they agree the value, then they will send you a letter to confirm it and also ask you for between £13.50 and £20 ish to add the agreed valuation to your policy, once you have paid up, you will then receive a letter back from them confirming the fixed value. Job done.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

Damn, i was too late to edit the above, anyway i was also going to say, include some adverts of other peoples cars for sale that are similar to your car and also a few buy it nows or bids from the bay just to substantiate your cars value, this also helps to get an agreed valuation sorted.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.
