try the new Northumbria hotel, Osborne road, Jesmond, nice hotel just a few minutes from the city centre, plus a lovely restaurant alongside and a couple of Bars. city centre (town) is about 1 mile away
Taxi rank / metro is just outside so getting into town is easy
