    A "determined" parliamentary push has been promised to ease the restrictions on holding motor racing events on public roads in Britain.

      It's not here yet.

      The concern is that local authorities effectively stopped a few speed events on private local authority roads by demanding ridiculous 'elf an' safety measures and this could be worse for rallies on closed public roads.

      The other concern is the MSA may see success here as a licence to dispense with forestry roads (which the Government may be selling off anyway of course, making it impossible to put together an event that involves lots of different road owners).

      As always, what is good for the top level may not be so helpful for grass roots events.

      The worst aspect of all is that the appalling Hilton may get to attach his name to a success.............

        Agreed KL, it may be a step in the right direction for some, it's far from sorted yet and will always be a detriment to something else.
