This is just a small list of for mk1, mk2, cosworth Escorts in world rallying. Does not include all the class wins, club wins, british champianships, rally champianships, saloon car champianships, european saloon car champianships, 68 tour of Irland, 68 Tulip rally etc. etc. etc. oh and 3 x Avon tour of Britain wins in the 70s.The Z cars did not have the power and handling of the BDA escorts but the were pretty bomb proof, so done well on the longer endurace events like the East African. Dad always liked these and i remember looking at the new 280Z when they came out at the Datzan main dealership up the road from us in Shirley, Southampton.

Only pre-1980's Fords where any good at rallying really . Sierra and Escort cossies were proper shite and got trounced by everything , even Jap mini-cab lookalikes were better .

I wounder what other make would beat this sort of record. Doesn't make you wounder why us Ford Nuts are into these little rear wheel drive, 4 cylinder family saloon cars.
