Platinum ones, so battery is one charge for the might and have another got tomorrow !!!

Hi brian, just had a thought could the dizzy be 180 degrees out, quick way to check is set engine to TDC firing on No1,then remove oil filler cap and check camshaft lobes they should be both pointing up away from the cam followers hope this helps .

What about a tow start? I spent ages/money restoring an Elan plus 2 and it just wouldn't start...towed it and bang wallop....

ye, a tow always gets them going

(unless you "forget" to put the rotor arm back on, like i did when ifitted my dcoe )

this may sound dumb, but try it with a set of normal plugs in!! especially if your motor has been apart, and then re-assembled with lots of excess oil, i used to have similar trouble when i had a kawasaki KR1-S two stroke racer on platinum plugs, and could be really temperamental on them,i could run it on normal plugs then swap em over once the motor had warmed up.......... worth a try if everything else looks good?
