  • Someone on here must have done this

Right, I hadn't really thought this though, but when the Escort that I have coming over from Australia gets here, what do I need to do to register it?

    I have looked here:

Type approval, individual (IVA), motorcycle single vehicle approval, voluntary approval, certificate of initial fitness, accessibility approval, fees, forms, replacement certificates

But this only seams to apply to vehicles under 10 years old

Will I need to SVA it?

Does anyone have any experiance of this?

    Help

I'm sure your right, in my head, I thought it had to be insured with the chassis number, MOT'd the inspected by the local DVLA office, but someone in work just mentioned SVA and I am now nervous

with scooters, they just need to be insured and mot'd. Registration fee is Ł55 plus 6 months or a years tax. Can't see a car being different

Pretty sure you dont need SVA Mike, all your docs from OZ are needed, proof of import duties paid etc, MOT it via the chassis number , then take all docs to nearest DVLA office and they should give it an age related plate.
