Guess the weight?

Just had great news about my old RS shell which is being restored by my old mate and may be finished shortly
With my old Shogun having bitten the dust while its been gone, I need to use something else to tow it back - anyone want to hazard a guess what a bare Mk2 rolling shell would weigh

would weigh hardly anything id say...enough to tow it with whatever you have in mind anyway probably

not saying that it was legal or far away though

You need to take into account the weight of the trailer as well. Shell on it's own prob no more than 300 kilo's???

Took the shell up last year on a small plant trailor and it JUST about fitted on. Will do the same again and glue a tow bar on the OldBloke Rover Should be an interesting 500 mile round trip! Now - where did I put the string backed gloves and trilby.................

I reckon the 300 kilo mark sounds about right. Should be no more than a ton with a small plant trailer if its anything like mine.
I remember fetching a Mk2 full of bits on a homemade car trailer with my mate a few years back. We used an L reg Escort estate 1.8 Diesel. No turbo, no power steering utterly utterly horrid car. We fetched the Mk2 from Salisbury which is probably 150 miles or so from us. Seemed like a good idea at the time, nice road trip and all that, we were over taken by everything and i mean everything!
