  • Gone and done it.....!

Well, I've done it.......went to see a mk2 rolling shell last night....circa 1977. A basic 1.3 2 door shell in orange, 75% rust free, passenger side the worst needs new outer sill, some 'A' pillar work and may replace that left hand front floor pan. Rear arches tatty but big arches are planned anyway. Underside good, undersealed and leaking propshaft seals have helped!

Remember the above and laugh when I probably find a hell of a lot more!!

This will be a long term project, really need to sort a plan now and stick to it! Already priced a good cage as I want to use it in tarmac competition when finished, not blisteringly quick, just dependable so throw me some engine/drivetrain ideas chaps !

Photos to follow when it arrives at my workshop.
sigpicSCC 578T not taxed since I sold it in late '80's

Bought my car over the internet with only photo's, took a big chance and luckily found nothing too dramatic other than the back panel (it was pretty bad and I didn't pick it in the supplied photos). My project is now 4 1/2 years old and it's still not running, in saying that I have not lost focus and it will be running by the end of this year (famous last words and notice how I didn't say completed). Perhaps this is not as long term as others and I intially set myself 3 years so I suppose I'm not doing too bad.

        Thanks guys !

Stripped off all the glass tonight and put the 1.1 x-flow / gearbox on Trade Me !

Certainly seems to be a workable shell, but as I said it won't be a quick fix !

Heres some photos I took this evening.....
