Off work at the moment and watched yet another repeat of Top Gear (when it used to be good) on Dave today.
The one where they compare old race car performance with modern day road car performance. I've seen the episode a couple of times and although the Focus RS beats the Mk1 (only down to gearing if you ask me) but doesn't it look the absolute Dogs Danglies being driven round the track!!!

That's a good episode but no way a shitty Focus can beat a works escort around their shitty test track . Even a forest car will spank one of those shitty shoppers , a fix i say .

hmmm, think your right, come to think about it, i bet it wasn't that far off the time the Focus had been released. A ploy to get people into the showrooms! I know which one I'd rather have

I watched that at the time & it really ****ed me off!

A mk1 in gravel trim against a road car on Tarmac! Put them both on the gravel or set the mk1 up for tarmac & it would have eaten the Focus.

Mk1 & Mk2's are still beating WRC's in rallying, not seen any FWD focus's doing that!
