  • Not happy with Parcelforce

sent a box of cleaned & blasted parts (about 10Kg) up to Belfast to a plating shop to have them yellow chromated.
Second batch, so a lot of smaller stuff , loads of nuts ,washers & bolts etc. job done and they posted back to Dublin with Parcelforce. box arrived in Dublin warehouse - damaged, so they would not deliver to my address. (15 mins away)

Sat for 2 weeks in the warehouse and then they shipped the opened & damaged box back to Belfast but there was no 'sender' address on the box.
They dont know how much parts are in the box & suspect some may be lost.
what a bunch of tossers --why didn't they pick up a phone book and ring me when it was in Dublin.

I gave up on anything related to Royal mail at the last postal strike. I've used Myhermes ever since and they have given me great service, never damaged a parcel, fast, signed for and recorded, cheaper, even pick the parcels up from your home when you are out at work.
            Check out their web site.

They are a new company obviously making an effort, unlike the lazy careless oafs at Royal Mail.
Personally I think HM should strip RM of ther Royal appointment title - don't deserve it

you're right Kevin, these people are like programmed computers , just working to punch in a day.
There were quite a few of the 'rarer bits' in the box., like all the clips and springs from the headlights, gearbox plates,& engine bolts.

bit of luck all will be there.

Fastway couriers are superb for North/South deliveries.

I sold my NOS Courtesy light switches on eBay in July. Posted them off but were never received. Filled out all the forms from the post office including the ebay forms. Sent off to customer services. They say they need an invoice from when I bought the switches..........................Was 20 years ago Have written back but not holding much hope from them.

thats bad Kevin- knowing the price of them. see Neil Watts ones went well on ebay yest.

We've lost a few things over the years like this...where do the items go to , things dont just disappear I can understand things ending up in wrong warehouses etc., but my view is there are 1000 of postal items dumped by post companies every day, (or robbed by staff). kids ordered me an 'RS' poster for xmas , never came and had to order second one. I've no doubt the first one is on someones wall.

parcelfarce change the rules to suit them on these kind of matters, twice i've lost things with them with insurance paid, sent all the forms off and i got a letter back asking for pictures of the item as they had just brought a rule in earlier that month, whan i said my parcel went missing well before this came in they more or less said, tough sh$te, the other thing is you can't call them up and talk to them about it, you just get the freepost addresses and the computer telephone sh$te to sift through, they don't give a to$$

I send hundreds of parts through the post every year through my business. I recommend using a C.O.P (certificate of posting) form which is free, if using the Royal Mail. If the parcel has some value, £20 plus I recommend using the "Signed For" service which is trackable using the R.M website. Parcels do go missing occassionally and you have to be able to prove to the R. Mail you posted the item and also the value of the item.

                            Good luck with the claim
