Did that on mine in 1980. Just put a bolt through and still there now.

Can you use helicoil on stripped threads of a nut?
Great for threaded stud holes but don't know about a nut?

Put a nut into the chassie through one of the rotten holes in the inner wing and weld it in then put a plate over the hole ,like you did on the strut top last year

bad as it sounds you'll have to cut a small window in the inner wing and weld a new nut in the chassis.(best do the above ideas and forget the concourse scene)

Bought a mex years ago and when i had a wheel off I noticed 2 small blanking plugs in the side of the chassie rail, 1 above each x-member bolt Popped the plugs out and found a perfect hole (obviously cut out with a good hole saw) And a nice new nut on the end of the x-member bolts!!! Went to the other side and sure enough same 2 blanking plugs in that rail too Not much good to you in concourse but it did the job and since the hole isnt due to damage or rust or excessivly weakens the area its a Mot pass. Go get the drill

I thought it was the Red one that your Missus had her heart set on ?
It needs an owner who knows how to look after it and keep it right mechanically ,the current one has let it decline badly during this year !!this is obviously reflected in its price ,I think this car is what CF used to calculate their Mex values and you will also have plenty of money left after selling yours and buying the shed
so debs can buy a more door happy bus

                          • You would get a good price for that car weighed in due to all the gravel in the chassis legs
