Escort scene was and never will be (well this is my 13th year here and it ain't kicked off yet) kicking all this way "daan saaf" (or is that down under) so I'm never disappointed and if I'm feeling let down I lock myself in the garage take the covers off the cars and admire them all by myself :-)

at last, everyone is seeing the light
i think fuel is the biggest contributor for travellers of a distance, apart from pot chasers' Zig and Zag from the H'shire .................. and it just costs a tidy penny nowadays to do anything really - but these last two years especially .............
i guess the prices wont get any better in the forseeable future either

Also think that the value of a lot of the cars has dipped and some people who bought at the peak possibly looking to re-live their youth then sell for a healthy profit have realised that this isn't going to happen in the medium term.
There are also the weather which has not helped and as already said fuel costs and a lack of spare cash to use on what for most people is a hobby that gets them out of the house at weekends.
Maybe there needs to be more events like The Lakes Tour & The Snowdonia Tour as these seem to be the ones that always attract plenty of cars and get great praise
And I personally would like to do a Trip to The Netherlands next year for the European Ford EventCheers

For me the crack is not there like it was, the old jokers don't come on here so much or go the shows, its just the whole scene in general has been going downhill for 2 years now which is a shame. Can't see an end to it to be honestEx-Chairman of 'The Clique'

i disagree with the above .... petrol hasnt risen "3p", when i got into the show scene petrol was well under £1 a litre, now its averaging nearly 1.40 .... thats nearly a 50% increase in fuel price, it makes a hell of a difference, especially when the twin 45s suck so much go juice in compared to the 32dft on my mk1 xr2
having said said, the reason i havent been to many shows this season is cause my mex has been playing silly beggars for the last few months next season will be better i'm sure
