I once pushed a "goal post" type block and tackle engine hoist around a workshop (it stood 8 foot high and apprx 6 foot wide with a very narrow wheel base - you can see where this is going) and it toppled over landing across the top edge of the windscreen and roof of my MKII 1600 Sport

Removed the smashed screen and lay down in slightly squashed car and booted the roof back up enough to put a screen back in

Drove it round for months after with the "lowered" roof

I rolled my first mk2 1300L as a seventeen year old after muttering the immortal words " watch how well this handles " the scrape marks are still on the flyover 20 years on !!!!!

I rolled my 1600 Sport in 1989 when I was 21. Put it into a Cornish hedge ( A wall covered in moss)

I was the worlds best driver then

That was a fair effort Derek!

I had a mint set of Mk2 door cards that i cut holes in for speakers back in the 90's

I swapped my mint MK2 Mexico for an RS1600i and gave a large lump of £££ on top back in about 1986 which at the time seemed like a sensible thing to do
                    Cheers

I rolled a mint Rs2000 at Bruntingthorpe 5 years ago, it had just had brand new doors and wings and mirrors fitted a month earlier - all mangled in the accident

I cut the roof of a perfectly good 2 door shell 'cause I needed a roof - scrapped the rest ( about 10 years ago)

I bought a 2 door 1600 Ghia auto with green glass and opening front quarters for £100 and scrapped it as I had no room ( kept the glass though )

Bought a 2 door 1300L from a neighbour - did extensive body work repairs and scrapped it when I bought a Harrier.

Bought a 2 door popster in signal orange with a beta interior off a work mate for £100, that went to the scrappy when the A post got a bit rusty

Sold perfectly good Escort van (mk2) that I couldn't be arsed to repair ( dented wing and rusty rear arches )

sold 6 1600 x-flow engines in bits to Burtons for £50 about 10 years ago

Lastly ( and worst of all ) turned down a Boreham built RS1800 shell with arches and all the right bits ( except the engine ) at a bargain price of £1000 about 13 years ago because I had no room.

It's being rallied to this day
                      Cheers Rob.

It didn't have a chav vinyl roof or a sunroof did it? And a shit-brown interior that would be embarrassing !

                                Right Deep breath....here goes....

Was never going to get in debit restoring my RS, so its been sat in the garage for the last few years and also collecting them little bits and bobs that get lost while turning a car back into component form . I was let down by a mate who was going to paint it, I paid him upfront and it never happened and some bits (erm lots of bits) were lost. Once I got it back and I lost heart too...Anyway had some money saved for blasting/re-roof/painting until about a month ago and was looking forward to getting it sorted out.

Rather than spending the money on the car and being sensible , I brought a horse ! Worst bit about it her name is 'Flower'...

Feel so much better for that.
