Having had my rs2000 for a few weeks I have been cleaning and generally getting the car as clean as poss for the summer before I really get stuck in with some serious resto over winter.
Everything has been going pretty well until today when my wheels came back from the powder coaters.
I decided to go all silver as I am trying to recreate the look of the car I had in the late 80's and have used this powder coating company for a long time but I was shocked at how bad the quality of the finish was on my wheels.
The gloss is un even with dry spots all over all 5 wheels, the powder has been over baked which has left pin holes in the finish.
Am picking a set of 7x13 minilites from gs escorts tomorrow while I decide what to do with my original wheels

I have used the same place for a number of years now with no problems. I wouldn't have got them to do them if I didn't think they were capable of doing the job to there usual high standard. I think that is why I am so shocked at how bad they are......

Dave, They are used to doing the various sets of gt3 rims I regularly knacker on track so know what I was expecting and their only excuse was that the alloy was of poor quality and had deteriated with age
I had 3 sets of m3 track wheels done about 2 weeks in satin black for my spare track car and they were ace

I refused to have mine powder coated and insisted they were sprayed to give the authentic look.

The change in gloss level is likely to be down to poor aluminium.

Were they blasted prior to coating?

The pin holes in powder coating are a common problem on some wheels . I had some mk1 golf GTI wheels done by Spit and Polish and the same thing happened to them . When i moaned the technical guy said the alloy was rubbish and contaminated . Didn't really notice once on the car .
