  • my turn on the rollers.........

    my car is getting taxed at 9.00am on friday, at 10.00am it is booked in for a session on the rollers at local tuner, tom airey! i cant wait to have the car given the once over, he reckons two hours tops should have my motor as sweet as a marsh mallow bee.......... but at a cost.......£160 for his time, which i am hoping will be worth the dosh, i had considered a krypton static tune up, but they arent as good as having it fuelling correctly under load, and at lots of revs........i am not expecting massive figures, as the car is mostly stock, bar a four branch, and K&N, but he reckons we will have good results......
    wish me luck, i hope it doesnt blow up........

      you might see about 125bhp at the flywheel for them mods.....

        doubt it, i'm expecting 110bhp at the flywheel, if i am lucky.... oh yeah, i forgot to add my car now has an electric rad fan, so that may find me 5 bhp somewhere............

            Sorry to say but K&N and 4 Branch will make no difference to power cause neither are restrictive in standard form LOL.....

            Unless you run some ignition advance

            I'd say 90 @ wheels, who cares about guestimate Flywheel anyway

                  Interesting, Dingy....I got 90 @ wheels..with K&N/Ashley/38DGas/Fast Road cam..does that sound a bit low??

                    My standard car made 89 @ wheels.....had a K&N on it tho but don't really class that as a mod

                      well ive been, and i now have a car that is running noticeably much better, the only dissapointment is the HP figures..........
                      flywheel= 108bhp
                      wheels= 82 bhp..............
                      it was lean at the bottom,and rich at the top, so the lid came off the carb, and jets were swapped, now it feels good, i am just lacking in pub ammo!

                      tom did say that my engine was the quietest he'd heard for a while, and said that i have a really fit distributor, with all the right advance curves, so that is pleasing to know i have a healthy motor

                          lee, did you buy any of that miller oils VSR additive he was peddleing, i bought a box of ten bottles for £40, supposed to be a lot better than the castrol stuff i was using, give fuel an octane level of 100....?

                            Millers takes 97 to 97.2 mate 97.4 at a push LOL....

                            Mine made 89 @ 98RON leaded like it was that long ago.
