It's unbelievable that it still goes on with the death rate that it has.
I love road racing but to AVERAGE a speed OVER 130mph on each lap of a 30 mile course, of roads, that includes a hairpin!, is truely mental.
I don't know of any other motorbike race which has pit stops. That in itself makes it fantastic. Even better when the commentator interviews the rider as the bike gets a new back tyre and a tank of fuel.
I was watching the lap time splits on the TT live website yesterday.
Hutchinson went from the start to Ballaugh bridge in 7 mins 28 seconds.
That is for 17.1 miles. Average of just over 143mph and all from a standing start on cold tyres Went through the speed trap on Sulby straight at just under 190mph.
Amazing
i went 2007 and the speed they travel at it mad it took us 45 mins to do the course and the speeds folk did on mad sunday i was doing 80 and folk where flying past me mad twangs
I've been watching the highlights on ITV4. The slo-mo shots are awesome - they show how hard the bikes and riders work and the movement of the suspension and tyres in minute detail. Unbelievable
