Quicke question for all those running Type9 gearboxes...

When was the earliest you fitted or got fitted a type9 in your escorts...

Nine was 1991 and it was still in the Ford shippment crate.

I had a Capri 2.8i 5 Speed gearbox in my Beige RS2000 in 1986

Ford was late entering the five-speed market, and the Sierra appeared so equipped in August 1983. So I take it that the first Escorts to have them fitted would have followed shortly afterwards.

Mine was only fitted about 5 years ago.

Fitted mine in 1953. Times were hard, we lived in a rolled up newspaper in those days.
