Lakes tour 2010
Well the Lakes tour 2010 six months in the planning, over in one week end and what a week end. I am still shattered while I write this but judging by all the smiling faces as you all went off the start ramp, and returned back to the Heaves I think I can safely say you all had a very enjoyable day.
I would like to thank you all for entering the Lakes tour 2010 this year the biggest tour of them all 230 cars left the Heaves hotel all told this year, with no problems apart from some over exuberant driving from some, and some cars going ‘off’ should we say but as I have said in the past It’s a TOUR not a rally, but I do hope that you don’t spoil it for the ones that do treat it for what it is meant to be, if you only knew what it takes to put on you may think of it in a different way.
I am not going to ban anybody from taking part in the lakes 2011 just spare a thought heaven forbid how you would feel if someone was injured , I know myself having crated this monster that that would be the end of all Lakes tours for me, so remember for next year IT’S A TOUR NOT A RALLY!!! From the reports I have had over the past week some of the overtaking manoeuvres of some of the drivers on the tour were down right dangerous, on blind bends and over crests, one was on a double white line before a blind corner, so this is just the kind of driving that will get the tour banned thankfully no on was hurt this year and no one was picket up by the police which is a blessing in disguise.
Right now!! the aRS kicking is over on a sweeter note as you all know the raffle on Saturday night and Sunday was in aid of Help 4 heroes, and with the sale of the wrist bands and donation boxes we did come up with a tidy sum for them £1,420 which we will make up to £1500 giving them a nice round figure a BIG THANKS to all.

Many thanks to all the RS2000 owners for there part in the display of RS 2000’s on Sunday.
All that remains now is to thank all of you for making the event what it has grown into over the past five years, and as long as we have the enthusiasm from all the old skool owners that we have had over the past five years, the LAKES TOUR will go from strength to strength. I did on a few occasions last week end hear one or two saying to me I think the event is growing out of the venue? Well yes I do kinda agree with you all there so we are going to look at it this year and see if the Lakes tour will be able to stand on it’s own in 2011 as an tour on the Saturday and a ford historic Motorsports show on Sunday if we can get a few more sponsors for the event on Sunday this should be achievable let’s wait and see, But it will always be at the HEAVES HOTEL HOME OF THE LAKES TOUR which brings me to thanking Mr and Mrs Miles Whitelock and Paul son of miles at the Heaves Hotel to which the event would not go a head without there support.
