Hagerty Premium gone up!

I suspected this had happened. Spoke to Ian A today who has just had a letter from Haggerty saying due a change in underwriters they can no longer insure him. I suspect this will happen to me too. A bit unfair, but i can understand why they are doing it. It has always been expensive for under 25's with modern cars and more recently the Market has changed to under 30's. I suppose the classic car world is seeing more people buying more retro cars and sadly this means a higher number of youngsters (me included) being used for an excuse to charge more or refuse insurance.

hahaha luckily i have about 130 ponies to play with as a 2.1 pinto on 45 dcoe's lies in place of the weedy 1.6 ..... so maybe its not suitable for under 17s

I was just talking in general about classic insurance policies on standard 1970/80's Escort RS's being for 30+ year olds only . Are they implying that older people can handle the lack of power better and a 27 year old with 10 years driving experiance can't handle going 110mph and 0-60mph in 2 mins ?!!!!

i dunno what they're playing at mate, i thought 25 was fair enough myself, get a few years under the belt and lose that craziness .... but alas .... someone will take my money, insurance companies love our money
