Hi all,
Finally found the farm where this MkII RS2000 I had heard about is lying .........so I knocked on the door.
The woman who owns it used to rally it with her husband (deceased)......and at the moment she not sure if she wants to sell it.....sentimental value so she's gonna think about it.
Anyway, it's 1980, white and hasn't been on the road since 1999. It's not "hanging", but it is a bit rusty, a few holes here and there....pretty tatty really. Looks like an old rally car that's been around the block then parked up for 6 years outside and in.
Bucket seats, no back seat, no back parcel shelf.
Engine bay ok, strut tops still white.
Nosecone all intact.
Couple of holes in the floor.
Sitting on alloys (not RS alloys).
Engine is all there, looked like twin downdraught carbs.
Gearbox felt very quick-shift.
Arches are all standard.
I tried to start it......battery flat.
Sorry, no photos (felt a bit cheeky to ask that!)
Now, this car is sentimental to her, plus it is an RS2000, so assuming she does want to sell what on earth do I offer her! She was asking me all sorts of questions about what I wanted to do with it......
Hmmmm!
Ian.
