Who could ever forget Motivation UK Dave. Roger 'plus vat' Whale lovely guy, would genuinely help anyone out. Had a cracking business by the bowling alley but then got involved with the man from Boddices and it all went tits up - real shame.

Last I heard he was living in Spain after spending some time working at Paul Matty sports cars

Agree - when he went to the "new" premises it seemed to lose its appeal

I used to work in the tyre bay (Now Enterprise Rent a Car) between 1983 - 1986 and we often had people buy go-faster goodies from the shop when it was in Bradburn and Wedge building and then come over to us to have em fitted

      Oh happy days - lol

        Aladdin's cave!

Still got a couple of his stickers, the old little shop around the back of the bowling alley were the best times, new place under the bowling alley wasn't so good - and Roger came off the counter too.

When did it move, 85, 86?

I thought Autoquipe was the shop on the lights/junction coming out of Stourbridge towards Wordsley

And what was the one called on the High Street West Brom (was it called Fast Car) near The Shalimar Indian Restaurant ?

OK, what about the shop at the traffic lights where the Tettenhal Road met the Brignorth road, by the Banks' brewery (is it still there?) - what was it; The Rally Centre?

Yes there was an Autoquipe (with an 'e') in Stourbridge, Autoquip (without an 'e') was on the Hagley road city bound. Where the Wolverhampton road meet the Hagley road and at the Ford dealership 'Hangers', turn left and Autoquip was first on your left. It had an array of wheels in the window and if my memory serves me right it went on to be Midland Wheels.

When I was at school our Metal work/mechanical engineer teacher used to work at Autoquip weekends, he had a fully decked out RS1600 and used to come to work in it, often rallying through the playground, this was the seed that started my rally Escort obsession.
