It was fast then - crx vtec's and rs turbo's give you no grief....

My mates full weight un-stripped mk1 Escort with a 201 bhp Harris pinto was running 12.8secs at Santa Pod on Sunday on some 175mm wide street tyres = faster than most of the 400bhp turbo motors !!!!

Gaz's car should drive nice on the 45's. Mine drives like a bag of bob anything under half throttle. Spits, misses and generally hates me lol. After half throttle though..........vroooooooom.

yeah it is fast - i personally ran 12.6 with a t3 on my car at 121 mph with 3.44 gearing as the harris cars normally run 4.1 and above gearing the pod proves absolutly nothing because its all about setup.

Not knocking it at all mate - just saying once you get biten its hard to go back....but its all about the fun factor and a pinto for me is slow unless your going down the lanes....

Very true. Most of the fast strip cars are built specifically for just that. Most cars that go on are road cars with not particularly friendly drag racing running gear.

Hi mate , the car is a normal all steel and glass windowed road car with full trim , heater , etc etc . No drag set up at all unless you count 2 inch lowering blocks and a pair of radius arms !!!!! It has a 4:1 diff and a 5 speed type 9 gearbox . 12.8sec from standstill to the 1/4 mile finish with only a 201bhp Harris pinto for motivation (so no need for power adders)

Mine and my mates car are "comfy" street cars without any drag racing mods at all . They are all heavy (unstripped) , all drive nice (set up/tuned properly at Torque of the Devil) and are just normal Escorts like everyone else has . Any mk1/2 Escort with a real 200+bhp N/A engine will push a 350-400bhp turbo car over the line without any so-called drag racing mods . We do it every meet !!!!!!
