  • A confession!!

well after a long winter of keeping quiet, some of you will have seen today that I have spent the winter carrying out a full engine bay resto on signal ginge

It has been really hard to keep quiet and not tell anybody, i almost made it but was rumbled on wednesday night by rodders but thankfully he kept quiet. I got the car back home home on thursday night after being at johnny peatman aka rhkshellsport workshop since mid october. Got it wheel aligned and headlight s set up on friday then spent all bloody day yesterday refitting the newly trimmed seats and generally cleaning the car as it was hanging.

It was always my plan to take it santa pod today, lift the bonnet and shock some of the notts boys!! Kev Frost talked me into entering novice concours with no knowledge of what i was up to, even though he shot blasted some bits without knowing they were for me

Well I turned up at the pod to find 3 very nice cars in my category and despite the opportunity to enter intermediate and get a guaranteed win I decided to stay as planned and pit my wits against these 3 outstanding cars. I was chuffed to get a 3rd place which in my 1st ever concours show is pretty good when you look at the cars I was up against. Had a really good day, enjoyed the experience and will be doing it all again in Cumbria. Big thanks to frosty for his help and advice and to other people, you know who you are. Was really good to get so many positive comments about the car today, was really chuffed Am knackered now from cleaning

Massive thanks to johnny for the hours he has put in on the car, many many 7am sunday morning starts on the car, with many many laughs along the way even had help from roland rat

Will put up a proper resto thread with pics when i get more time.
