The Lakes tour 2010
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have entered the Lakes Tour 2010 which is of course is the 5th tour for those of you that have done all five Lakes tour I will have a commemorative Award for you.
When I had this crazy idea 4 years ago to organize a run round the lakes in a few Old Escorts I never thought it would balloon into what it has today. It just goes from strength to strength this year is no exception 200+ pre 80s Fords of all marques are now entered for this year’s Lakes tour 2010.
Your Entry consists of:
1 lakes tour plate
1 Route book
1 finishers Award
1 buffet Meal 2 if you have paid for 2
1 wrist band 2 “ “ “
coffee at one of the stops you will need your wrist band on to claim your coffee
Lakes tour plate will give you admission to the Cumbria RSOC Sunday.
As it will be the year of the RS2000 all RS 2000 will be parked together on Sunday.
The format this year will be as follows, most of you as I can see from the entry forms will be camping overnight from Friday afternoon Please don’t turn up much before 1.00pm both myself and Bob will be there to show you where all the tents will be pitched, starting from the top end of the grounds near the garden centre wall, some of the trees have now gone leaving more room in that area. Showers will be on site hopefully with a better water supply this year.
New for this year is a trailer with loos and wash basins.
Shopping
BP Garage is the nearest shop on the way into Kendal. Asda is near to Oxanholme Station. Morrison’s is on Shap road at the North end of Kendal on the A6 Shap road
Campsite
Please try to keep the campsite tidy bin bags will be provided in your goodie bag
BBQ’s keep them off the grass please.
No car movements in the grounds after dark.
NO OPEN CAMP FIRES !!!
No refuelling of cars in the hotel grounds.
All tents in the showground MUST be down and packed away by 8.00am on Sunday.
No Starting of cars before 7.00am
No unnecessary revving of engines or spinning of wheels anyone found driving in a dangerous manor in the hotel grounds will be told to leave; the speed limit in the hotel grounds is 3mph max
Security for your pride and joy!!
There will be a security guard on the gate Friday and Saturday night if you go out of the grounds with your car after 7.00 pm please make sure you let him know so he can let you back in. No Lakes tour cars to be moved out of the grounds after 10.30pm. Friday or Saturday night

This award will be nominated by all participants of the Lakes tour in your route book, will be a voting slip PLEASE CAN YOU FILL THIS IN with make and model of the car you think is the nicest car doing the tour and return it to me at the end of the tour.
