Wel I decided to have a play in the blue mk1 and guess what.....She dumped all engine oil on the road and now she be knocking...gutted doesnt even come close!! So I will be removing the old YB this week and stripping it down for the rebuild...aargh!!

What caused the loss of oil - did a rod poke its head of the block ?

burst an oil pipe (samco) so must have had some pressure problem as hoses were decent quality. Oil is just every where so will be a bit wiser when I get a better look at it! Just not feeling the love at the minute....cant be arsed to bother

Daft question , the hose was the correct oil hose ?

oil does break down silicon and if the hose you used isnt the correct pipe made to carry oil thats why it failed

worth checking , loads of people use the wrong pipe and this happens

i took the silcone hose off my turbo oil return because i had heard this happens.gutted m8

Im unsure if the pipe was rated for oil or coolant to be fair...didnt think of that
Im unsure what to do at the min...should I put an XE in there instead..?? Dont know if I can be arsed with the whole turbo thing...mmmm?
