Over the last 12 months I have started to re-kindle my love of Escorts.
I have a 73 Mexico which has been off the road since 1986 and dry stored since. I have recently made arrangements to get it home here in Wales and have made a list of parts to purchase for it's revival.
As most of you will know, parts are now very expensive, even mundane items, which only a few years ago would of cost pennys.
I've worked out the cost of the new parts plus the value of what I would get for breaking the car, which equates to the value of a very good spec runner
, but yes I agree with what most of you are saying, "non of the fun of building it".
Only last month I read a thread on this site about somebody having there RS2000 stolen, no doubt it will be broken for spares as this trade has become very profitable.
On the up side I will not be breaking my Mexico, it has too much sentimental value

, on the down side it's going to cost way too much and be pocket emptying

. As I keep telling my wife, it's an investment
