I'm going to be editing the newsletter (my first one will be sometime this spring) and i wondered if there were any members of the club on here?

if so have you got any features, stories, reports, want your escort featured etc etc

i'd guess any kind of input from non members would be gratefully received too - for instance, i'd like to do a report on security at some point

i was a member for years before peter got ill and the local co-ordinator passed away. It was a good club but seems to have lost its way a little.
I don't know what type of security your on about but i run my own alarm and cctv company. i don't do vehicle security though. If i can help with anything let me know.

yeah it's floundered a bit due to his illness mostly - but if nothing else i'm hoping my little contribution will at least keep the members up to date, there hasn't been a publication for ages and a lot of them aren't on the internet forums.

security wise i was thinking about tips to stop the cars getting nicked as it seems to be a very regular thing these days.

a lot of them aren't on the internet forums.

i pressed peter on many occasions about moving with the times and creating an online forum attatched to the website to help people keep in touch from across the country, but because he is old fashioned and a stick in the mud, and wanting too much control he rejected the idea, much to the clubs deficit i feel. they just have that message board which is over moderated, well they had this is a few years ago we are talking now

the message board / guestbook thing on their site is pretty much useless

hence me asking on other peoples ford / escort forums

thing is though there are so many other well established, excellent forums already out there for our subject i'm not sure it would be used much even if there was one

it seems from my limited dealings with the club that a lot of people don't even use the internet at all so maybe it's not just those in charge who are reluctant

anyway, at least there will be a magazine out sometime soon - maybe i can broach the question in there and see if there is support for a forum of their own

well hopefully my little contribution will be a start

i'm no representative of the club and i only joined 2 years ago, i just volunteered to help do the newsletter/ magazine

i can see that it's not in the best position at the moment but it's understandable that when a club is pretty much all down to one man (and in this case his woman too) if he falls ill and can't be in charge that it's going to suffer badly.
