you could do a hell of a lot worse, excellent experiences and a chance to see the world, decent pension prospects too, not many jobs for life these days. i can reccomend working with aircraft if you want something engineering based.

Yeah, engineering on the aircraft side is £13000 start but the prospect is there to build your way up an earn more

im sure once you get to do proper work you wages would go up, as a young lad without a mortgage all that money is for beer and tatoo's
in the fleet air arm i am sure you would get to do plenty of flying and it will be a little more interesting than unblocking loo's........lol

the pay is so shocking due to not having to have any qualifications. Think it would be the experience of a life time, travel the world an meet loads of people

best thing you'll ever do jack, its not all work, first year will be a little shite doing you basic training, but after that everything will be on the up especially the money, free health care, dentist, cheap accomodation, and a great career ladder if you choose to climb it, retire after 22 years with a big payout and a monthly pension, good luck buddy

+1 especially on the first year thing, it will be very hard both physically and mentally, but its all training so you can cope under extremes of pressure without loosing the ability to do your job. lots of people bail out thinking that they are being bullied, its all about breaking you down then building you back up again, deeply psycological but stick with it

your pay will definitely go up, you'll be made for life son
