So for another example the Classic Car tours that are organised by firms for runs to the continent etc, how do you think the organisers would feel if you just tagged on the back ?
What about the reserved parking thats organised at several stops on the route, the gifts in the entry pack, the maps , the camping site, the security, the bins, the showers, the buffet ??
Bit more to it than a few on here seem to appreciate

I missed the online reg myself last year and was one of the names on the reserve list. Steve kept in touch and I eventually got my place on the tour as there were a few on the waiting list. As others have said mate, keep the faithsigpic

How many entries were there? gutted my car not done but seems that i may not have been able to go anyway, as i havn't done the tour before however, i have been on the sunday to see static day.
Its a shame that people have put a lot of time and money into cars to attend, and can't.
I had no idea that there were limited spaces, probably like many others.
And I am not moaning, just can see how some people are disapointed.
Ill be there sunday, though as ever, and glad that there is something like this for us to enjoy.

I think that what Steven F is meaning is that he is wondering why he cant just go to Cumbria and maybe meet up with some of the guys on here,what is there to stop anyone going of their own accord and going to see the static show?
what we need to remember on these threads is that questions and sentences can be taken out of context and read a different way than they were typed.
having been involved in organising a show i am fully aware of what is needed to get these events sorted, and there is a lot of hard work
Don't fall off your bike.... It Hurts

what i meant to add on aswell is;
it would be totally wrong to just jump on the back of the tour but meeting up with the guys over the weekend at some point wouldnt be a problem would it?

I agree, more cars at static display the better, and following it round without an entry is a little bit naughty, and not to within the spirit of the event.
However some people may feel like doing that as they have spent lot of time and money getting cars done to be part of the tour, and now can't do it.
I am sure the tour will be great, and lets see what sort of turn out we can get on the sunday, and other shows through the year.
